I will be playing with the Java Jivers at Common Grounds Coffee and Music House in Bunn, for the 3rd Annual Heart Strings Valentines Day Dinner.  Last year the dinner was $50 per couple.  I'm assuming it will be the same this year.  As soon as Common Grounds posts an event invitation on Facebook I will post a link.  Hope to you see everybody there.

On my website, http://www.jimmycollinsstudios.com/greeting-cards, I have a sale on Holiday Cards.

It's been a long time since I posted here so I thought I would let folks know I'm still alive and still playing.  I'll be playing for the North Carolina Department of Revenue Christmas luncheon December 14, 2016.  It's a private party but I'll post any new public gigs in the near future.

Recent Commissioned Portrait, 'Tiger'

I recently completed this portrait of Tiger the Black Lab.  Tiger passed away recently and his owner commissioned this portrait as a Christmas present for his wife.  He said this is the way he would always remember Tiger.  Looking out the window of his truck.

What's new with Music.

I haven't posted in a while so I figure I'd better give an update as to what's happening.  I will be playing at Notes Cafe in Washington, NC on March 27th  from 8:00pm - 12:00am with 2 friends from Washington, Eddie Wilcox and Randy Wood.

I am still playing at Cafe Capistrano in Cary every Tuesday night.  Turnout has been good lately.  A few weeks back there was a photographer and food editor for Cary Magazine came to get photos and interviews for an article to be published in the May/June issue.  I'll post a link when that happens.

In February I had the first occasion to play for an assisted living center in Zebulon, Zebulon House.  With me was one of my students, Jim Zimmerman, on guitar.  I will be playing there again this coming Monday at 10:30am - 11:30am.  This time I will have with me in addition to Jim, another student, John Hall on bass.  John's wife Dorothy will be singing with us.  We will be playing old time gospel hymns such as The Old Rugged Cross, Precious Lord, What a Friend we have in Jesus, and many others.  I plan to do one of these performances every other month this year or as schedule permits.
